I made it back from California. Barely... j/k. Sort of. Ridiculously minor earthquake happened 40 miles from our hotel in the middle of the night before we came home. It was enough to move my bed and wake me up and leave me forever traumatized. I don't know how people in California do it.
Anyway. Since coming back I've been a little neglectful and I haven't meant to be. I'm working on not one, but two, year long art classes and that's been keeping me busy. Now on top of doing Lifebook 2014, I'm also doing Draw your awesome year. I'm having lots of fun and feeling very creative. Experimenting with new materials and new styles of art. It's been a good push out of my box, creatively speaking. I was pretty fond of my comfort zone, art-wise, and this is making me push my boundaries in ways I didn't think I could. So, that's what's up. I'll share some images of what I've been up to lately. The top image is my week 6 lesson from Lifebook 2014. Playing with spray inks (which I've never used before but am enjoying) and composition. Thanks to Tam! The 2nd image is my February grid from Draw my awesome year. It'll get filled in throughout the month, with doodles and events each day. That goes on throughout the year. Main goal to keep you drawing every day. And to end up with a journal (drawn/written) of all the stuff that's happened in your life over the course of a year. See y'all around.
