Raindrops are fallin' on my head

Rain, rain… and more rain.  Fine by me, as long as it stays rain and not snow.  That's part of spring, right?  It's what turns everything from brown to green.  Things start coming to life.

I've been doing some painting.  Haven't uploaded the most recent yet.  That'll be coming soon.  I've also got some #Lifebook2014 projects that I need to work on.

Plus, still working towards a website update.  Still coming, still hopefully soon.  Makes me feel like a slacker that I keep talking about it, but haven't made it happen yet.  But it's coming, I promise.  :)

All for now.  Tonight is The Voice.  Maybe some art stuff.  We'll see.

There are changes coming... really... I swear!

Trying to figure out graphics and fonts and junk.  Which is taking more time than I had originally hoped.  But, I guess that's probably not a bad thing.  If I'm going to make big changes I want to make them good ones.  I don't want to make a boatload of changes and then decide I'm not happy with them.

Also, in between time, I am continuing to work on Lifebook 2014 projects as well as Draw My Awesome Year.  Doing a little catch up on projects for both.

But for now... it's off to sleep.  Two more long days of work this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Reoccurring theme

Some of my projects have had a reoccurring theme as of late.  A little girl in a tutu.  In one case involving a picture of me as a child, with mixed media and an actual tutu.  Which is kinda funny.  If you would've known me when I was little.  I don't feel like I grew up feeling all that girly.  I didn't want to grow up to be a ballerina.

But as life has gone through all that it's gone through for me, I've started to reach back.  I feel like I have some unfinished business with the younger me.  Like there were some things I neglected to take care of.  And the wounded little me is still in there.  I think part of me feels the need to fix what was broken.  Or something like that.  lol.

As I've been working on some paintings and other projects I haven't made much headway on the website update that I have coming up.  Hopefully sometime soon.  I've got some things I want to change.  And I'd like to get some stuff more organized.

The above picture was interesting to put together.  For me anyway.  It shows my hair, or sometimes lack there of.  It's basically a time line from March 2013-April 2014.  Top row is March 2013-August 2013 (a few in the middle are wigs of course).  2nd row starts with September 2013 when my hair was first starting to come back through January 2014.  Last 2 rows are between February and April 2014.  I've com

If I were clever

If I were clever... I might've come up with some cool April Fools Day joke.  I might've.  But alas... I am nowhere near that clever.

Not really surprising seeing as how gullible I am when it comes to people posting April Fools Day pranks.  This year I wasn't so bad, but typically I easily bite on ever I'm pregnant post or other such stupid joke.  I'm easy like that.  I'm too trusting.  That's part of my problem.  If people say things I assume they're telling the truth.

Going to take a second, or five, to whine about the weather.  Really MN?  Just enjoyed a 60 degree day, walking in the sunshine.  And we're now under another winter weather warning.  With what they're describing as a 2 day weather "event".  And... I'm done.

Spent some time last night working on my April grid for Draw my awesome year.  That's a fun class.  Completely out of my comfort zone.  I've never been a big journal type person.  And doodling causing me anxiety.  As does the writing part I guess.  I don't love my handwriting, most of the time.  But it's a fun exercise and the book will be a nice keepsake of what I did this year.

I'm mid-way through a Lifebook 2014 lesson too.  We're up to lesson 14 there, I'm working on lesson 12 though.  I've dragged my feet on some of the lessons.  Ones that are further outside my comfort zone.  I'll get around to them, I'm sure.  It's one of those lessons that I have an idea what I'd like it to end up like... but I'm scared that it's going to be awful.  So it currently sits, half finished.  I know I need to bite the bullet and just do it.  Now that I'm thinking about it... I might go work on it now.  :)  Well I think I'll finish watching the video for lesson 14 and then I'll go finish lesson 12 or at least make some progress on it.  Sometimes they're hard to finish when you want to because you have to do them in steps and let them dry.  I can be a little impatient.  Shocker!!

I'm thinking tomorrow night will be a good time to hunker down in the studio.  While it's a cold and snowy and crap outside.  Sounds like a plan.  I have some painting ideas I'd like to start on.  And some other projects to work on.  So much to do.  So little time.  I guess I better get at it.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy spring.
