Haven't done much updating lately. Finally got around to starting to update the headers and such, after changing the layout of the page it required a little bit of tweaking. There will be more progress made all around coming soon. Planning on making a regular schedule of art/website related stuff.
Started a new painting recently, still in the middle ugly phases. I'll share it when I get more layers put on it and it starts coming together. I have a lot of other in progress stuff that I need to wrap up, and it will all get posted as it gets done. Thanks for stopping by!

With regards to a comment on my last blog post about selling paintings, for anyone who sees a finished painting or mixed media piece that they are interested in purchasing feel free to let me know. We can definitely work something out.
I don't have the pricing set firmly on any of them yet. Still working that out. However, on all current pieces, prices would be set according to the following: cost of canvas, cost of shipping, cost of other materials involved (minimal usually), with a slight mark up for my work. Truthfully speaking the current pieces I have I am willing to sell at a reduced rate, than say what I will list them for when I'm ready to actually start listing stuff on Etsy. If you ever want to ask about a current piece or even if you want to check with me about having a piece done (I'm totally willing to work on commissioned pieces) shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. If you're e-mail about an already finished piece please put "Purchase" in the subject of your e-mail. If you are looking to have me do a piece for you, please put "Commission" in the subject of your e-mail. Thanks for stopping by, and many thanks for all your support. Took a little break from painting, to get back to my other love. Photography. It's a pretty time of year for taking pictures. Lots of fall colors. Have a few paintings that I still need to finish. Still trying to catch up on #Lifebook2014. And I say that I'm trying to do that... so far "trying" is only made up of feeling guilty for all the lessons I haven't done.
My art to-do list this weekend will involve taking the time to sit and work on #lLifebook2014 lessons. Watching videos (some are just interviews that I need to watch). And the working on the projects that I can work on. Some of them I don't have the supplies for yet. But I'm going to do what I can do. Going to try to get my artist/business stuff together and filed. Over the course of the next few months I'm going to be working on the business side of my artist stuff. My goal, to get it together and get ready to be able to start selling stuff next year. Or try to anyway. Working towards goal of getting stuff set up on Etsy. I've got tons of finished paintings and some of them are pretty good. I know I've had people express interest in buying paintings before. Money isn't why I do what I do, art-wise. But that is the thing about art... it is meant to be shared. That's what's going on now. Can't wait to have more to share. Thanks to all my peeps for all your support. You have no idea what it means to me. I realize I've been a little AFK from blogging here. Not my intention to be neglectful. I have been doing some paintings, which I've uploaded. And catching up, or trying to at least, in my #Lifebook2014 class. Also continuing to work in my Draw My Awesome Year book. Both of those courses challenge me in different ways and I really enjoy them both. Here are some of my recent paintings: Playing around with a lot of different things. Doing a lot more "realistic" people lately. I put it in quotes because I tend to do them semi-exaggerated.
Looking forward to sharing more of my work. Also, hoping I can get around to working towards opening an Etsy store. Thanks for stopping by... Toodles Got an idea for a painting. I've started sketching it out on a canvas. I'm excited because I think it could be a cute idea. I'm a little skittish that I won't be able to get it to look like I'd like it to. But I'm going to go for it and see what happens.
All I have to say is I wish I was super better at drawing people... and feet are weird. I feel like I've been a bad mom... to my website. I've been a little neglectful, but I've been busy. For good reason. I decided to put my #thisis40 moodiness to good use. I've gotten on a health kick, exercising and junk. Which has left me pretty wiped out between working and exercising and relaxing.
But I'll be back. No worries. Take care y'all. I've almost reached the end of my birthday. And I've had a pretty decent day. Can't really complain. My wish wasn't granted, but you can't always get what you want... right?
I've had a few drinks and now I'm sitting in bed watching tv. I've got the munchies, but I'm too lazy to go to the store. I've got tonight and tomorrow night at a hotel and then back to reality. I'm going to use some of my relaxing time to plot out some new projects. So that's exciting. Ciao for now |
